Probably For A Million Years
I broke ALL of my promises. Sorry guys.
I have had some adventures since Florida, but have been really bad at documenting them. Sometimes time gets away from you, and sometimes you want it to.
Anyway, I did some hiking in Rickett's Glen.

You Are Now Free to Move About the Cabin
After a short flight into Tampa (during which I dozed like an infant, unusual for me!), Kaity and I took a shuttle to pick up our bags and our rental. That turned into a bit of a mess. Hertz got themselves into a snafu, and maybe 20 of us were in line for over an hour waiting for a car. Kaity and I both felt really bad for the customer service girl, so we were super nice, I'm sure you'll be pleased to know. :)
There was this crazy guy in line who was trying to instigate all kinds of drama by being loud and unpleasant about the wait, and we did our best not to put his head in a grocery bag and do the world a favor.
Once we put our bags in our fridgidaire, we headed out onto the highway. It was lined with palm trees and toll booths- seriously, we had to stop at least four different times.
We pulled into a strange and circuituous development that reminded me of the 50's style homes from Edward Scissorhands.
The house was little and cute, but we had a little bit of trouble getting in...at all, so we went to the neighbors house, Elaine, and as her name suggests, she was crazy!! Really nice, but crazy. Kaity ended up calling a locksmith, who was so awesome that I wish I got a picture of him-- imagine the skinniest little old man you ever saw, with no teeth, clad in jeans and tattered black tank top, and faded ball cap. He shot the doorknob with his pick gun, we paid him $50, and we were in!
Aside from a few dead cockroaches (shriek!!!) the house was spotless, thanks to kaity's aunt, who had a cleaning service come and clean for us.
Afte we settled in, we went to Carrabba's for dinner, which was delicious. Aparrently it was prom night, too. Our waiter, Tim, was super nice and friendly, and told us all kinds of things to do in the area. By the time we finished dinner, the Publix was closed, so we ended up crashing. We were going to crack some beers and watch a movie, but I think we were both more tuckered out than we thought.
Today all we did was go grocery shopping and make friends with a cop, but later we're headed to Howard beach! The cop told us it was a "thong" beach and got really awkward about it, and I was trying so hard to smother my laughter at his embarrassment.
That's all for now- I'm posting from my phone, and I'll see if I can upload some of the pictures I've taken so far.

Revive, O Ye Flagging Hearts!
Yes, I have awakened the Kraken-blog from its long slumber to announce that while I have done nothing of note and gone nowhere of interest since last summer, I have two -YES, YOU READ CORRECTLY- two vacations planned this year.
FIRST, Kaity and I are headed to the sunny, granny-panted coast of Florida for some good old beaching (whale jokes, ha!), Thomas Edison-ing, and hopefully copious amounts of beer. There will be no fist-pumping.
SECOND, I fly to the West. That is all I will say for now, but know that my little heart is bursting with excitement.
Expect videos and pictures within in the next month or so.
I leave you to suffer agonies of anticipation with this teaser post.
